When model-turned-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out with a band on her left ring finger earlier this week, rumors began circulating that her action star beau Jason Statham had popped the question.

But the 23-year-old Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon actress set the record straight Thursday night.

“No, that’s not an engagement ring,” Huntington-Whiteley told UsMagazine.com at the Treats! Magazine launch party in L.A.

But that didn’t keep her from holding back her feelings about The Mechanic star, 43, who she’s been dating since April.

Asked why their relationship works (despite the 20 year age difference), Huntington-Whiteley replied, “I don’t know. Because we love each other.”
